Hadith 3468
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up in the middle of the night to pray, he would recite this supplication. Then the narrator mentioned the complete supplication and also said: Your word is true, Your promise is true, meeting You is true, forgive all my past and future, hidden and apparent sins. You are my Lord, there is no deity except You.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of all people, and he used to review the Noble Qur'an with Jibreel (peace be upon him) every Ramadan, and he would become even more generous than the swift-blowing wind.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that after the blessed passing of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the Prophet’s Mosque, he reached there and removed the striped sheet that had been placed over the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)’s blessed face, and upon seeing the radiant face, he leaned over it and began to kiss it.
Hadith 3471
Tawoos says that once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that people think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if you are not in a state of major impurity, still perform ghusl (ritual bath) on Friday, and apply oil and perfume." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied that I do not know about this.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a graveyard which was located on the previous path (Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, indicated with his hand towards the back of the sand mound) and said, "This is the best graveyard." I asked the person who told me this whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had specified any particular part of it, but he could not tell me which place the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had specified, except that he kept indicating with his hand. However, we used to hear that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had specified the part that was in front of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah). Benefit: Apparently, the graveyard referred to here is Jannat al-Mu'alla.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed a penalty of one dinar for intercourse with a menstruating woman, and if a man fulfills his desire with her after the blood has stopped but before she has performed ghusl, then in that case half a dinar is obligatory for intimacy, and all this detail is transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 3474
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was amazed at those people who begin the month in advance, even if the moon has not been sighted, and he used to say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the moon is not sighted, then complete the count to thirty."
Hadith 3475
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that, to my knowledge, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not fast on any day seeking its virtue over other days, except for the Day of Ashura and this blessed month of Ramadan.
Hadith 3476

Ata bin Abi Rabah says that once Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) invited his brother, Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him), to eat on the day of Arafah. He replied that he was fasting. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Do not fast on this day (in the state of Ihram), because milk was milked and presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a vessel on this day, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank it. And people follow you (so seeing you fasting, they might start considering it important).
Hadith 3477
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that after the obligatory prayers, raising the voice in the remembrance of Allah used to take place during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I would only come to know that the people had finished the prayer when I heard this sound.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during a part of the night, performed ablution from a water-skin, and stood up for prayer. I also stood up when I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) doing so, performed ablution from the water-skin, and stood on his left side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of me by the waist and made me stand on his right side.

Ikrimah and Kuraib say that once Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Shall I not relate to you about the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during travel? We said: Certainly. He said: If, at the place where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) halted, the sun had started to decline from its zenith, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would combine Zuhr and Asr prayers before mounting (to depart). And if, at the time of halting, this had not happened, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would continue his journey, and when the time for Asr arrived, he would halt and combine Zuhr and Asr prayers. Similarly, if the time for Maghrib occurred while halting, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would combine Maghrib and Isha prayers at that time. Otherwise, he would continue the journey, and when the time for Isha arrived, he would halt and combine Maghrib and Isha prayers.

When the narrator asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the meaning of this, he replied that no city dweller should act as a broker for a villager.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Last night, in a dream, I saw my Lord in the best form and appearance, which I consider the best. My Lord said to me: 'O Muhammad! (peace and blessings be upon him), do you know what the angels of the highest assembly are disputing about?' I replied: No. Upon this, my Lord placed His blessed hand between my shoulders, the coolness of which I felt in my chest, and by its blessing, I gained knowledge of all things between the earth and the heavens. Then Allah said: 'O Muhammad! Do you know what the angels of the highest assembly are disputing about?' I replied: Yes! They are disputing about the expiations and the ranks. He asked: 'What is meant by expiations?' I replied: 'Staying in the mosque after the prayers, walking to Friday prayer on foot, and performing ablution properly despite difficulties (such as in cold weather). Whoever does this, his life will be good and his death will be good, and he will be cleansed of his sins as if his mother had given birth to him today.' And O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! When you pray, recite this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ بِعِبَادِكَ فِتْنَةً أَنْ تَقْبِضَنِي إِلَيْكَ غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ» 'O Allah! I ask You for good deeds, I seek refuge from sins, and I ask for the love of the poor, and that when You wish to test Your servants, take me to Yourself without being afflicted by that trial.' The narrator says that by ranks is meant feeding others, spreading peace (greetings), and praying at night when people are asleep."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the chiefs of Quraysh once gathered in the Hatim and, in the names of their false gods Lat, Uzza, and Manat, made a pact and covenant that if they saw Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), they would all stand together and would not part from him without killing him. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) heard this and, weeping, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "The chiefs of Quraysh are making a pact concerning you that if they see you, they will advance and kill you, and each one of them is thirsty for your blood." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Daughter! Bring me some water for ablution." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and went to Masjid al-Haram. When those people saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), they said, "There he is," but then, for some reason, they lowered their gazes, their chins hung down on their chests, and they sat bewildered in their places. They could neither raise their eyes to look at the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) nor could any of them stand up and move towards him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) walked towards them until he stood by their heads, took a handful of dust, and said, "May these faces be disfigured," and threw that dust upon them. Every person upon whom that dust fell was killed in the state of disbelief on the day of Badr.

Abdur Rahman bin Abis says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): Did you participate with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of Eid? He replied: Yes! If I did not have a connection with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), due to my childhood I would never have been present on that occasion, and he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and led two units of Eid prayer near the house of Kathir bin As-Salt, then delivered a sermon, and admonished and advised the women and instructed them to give charity. So they took off their jewelry from their ears and necks and gave them to Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to give as charity.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once I came to my maternal aunt, Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), and spent the night at her place. I found out that, according to the division of nights, tonight was the turn of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to spend the night with her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the house after performing the ‘Isha prayer and lay down, resting his head on a leather pillow filled with palm fibers. I also came and placed my head on one corner of that pillow. After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up and saw that much of the night still remained, so he returned to bed, recited tasbih and takbir, and went back to sleep. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up again, one or two thirds of the night had passed. Now the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, relieved himself, and came to the water skin hanging in the pillar room, which contained water. He rinsed his mouth three times, put water into his nose three times, washed his face three times, washed both arms three times each, then wiped his head and ears once, then washed both his feet three times each, and went to his prayer place and stood up. I also stood up and did exactly what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had done, and came and stood on his left side, intending to join him in prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did nothing for a short while, but when he realized that I intended to join him in prayer, he extended his right hand, took hold of my ear, and turned me to his right side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to pray two rak‘ahs at a time as long as he felt there was still time left in the night. When he sensed that the time for Fajr was near, he prayed six rak‘ahs and made the intention for witr in the seventh. When it became light, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed two rak‘ahs and then lay down and slept until I heard the sound of his snoring. After a short while, Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and informed him of the prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and led the prayer in the same state and did not touch water. The narrator says: I asked Hazrat Sa‘id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him), “Is this a good deed?” Hazrat Sa‘id (may Allah have mercy on him) replied, “By Allah! I also asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) the same thing, and he said: Beware! This ruling is not for you or your companions; this ruling is specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) because even in sleep, he was protected.”
Hadith 3491
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked: After stoning the Jamrah Aqabah, is it also permissible to apply perfume? Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: I myself have seen with my own eyes the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) applying a perfume called musk to his head. Is that not perfume?

Abu Al-Tufail says that once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), "Your people think that the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed Sa’i between Safa and Marwah while sitting on a camel, and that this is Sunnah?" Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: "These people say something correct and something incorrect." I asked, "What is correct and what is incorrect?" He said: "It is correct that the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed Sa’i while sitting on a camel, but it is incorrect to consider it Sunnah. In reality, people would not move away from the Prophet (peace be upon him), nor could they be made to move, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed Sa’i while sitting on a camel. If he had not been on a mount, walking on foot would have been more beloved to him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man presented himself in the court of the Messenger and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My mother passed away in my absence, so if I give some charity on her behalf, will she benefit from it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" Upon this, the man said: Then I make you a witness that I have a garden, and I have given it in charity on her behalf.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should fulfill it on her behalf."
Hadith 3507
Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to me, "Get married, because the best person in this Ummah (i.e., the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) had many wives (so you should at least marry one, if not four)."
