It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah only four times: once from Hudaybiyyah, once in the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah in the following year as 'Umrat al-Qada', once from Ji'irrana, and the fourth time on the occasion of his Hajj.

The people said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" He said, "The person who holds the reins of his horse and sets out in the path of Allah until he dies or is martyred." Then he said, "Shall I tell you about the person who comes next after him?" The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" He said, "The man who lives alone in a mountain pass, performs prayer, gives zakat, and keeps away from evil people. Shall I not tell you about the person who holds the worst rank?" The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" He said, "The person who begs from someone in the name of Allah and receives nothing."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate some of the clarified butter and cheese, but left the lizard due to dislike. However, others ate it from the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) dining mat. If eating it had been forbidden, it would never have been eaten at the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) dining mat.

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قال : " لا يُعْضَدُ عِضَاهُها ، ولا يُنَفَّرُ صَيْدُها ، ولا تَحِلُّ لُقَطَتُها إِلا لِمُنْشِدٍ ، ولا يُخْتَلَى خَلاها " فقال العباسُ : يا رسولَ الله ، إِلا الإِذْخِرَ ، قال : " إِلا الإِذْخِرً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(Allah Almighty has declared Makkah as a sanctuary) Its grass should not be cut, its trees should not be cut, its game should not be chased, and its lost property should not be picked up except by one who will announce it and deliver it to its owner.” Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Please make an exception for the grass called Izkhir. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made an exception for it.

It happened in such a way that a man became intoxicated after drinking alcohol and was staggering here and there on the road. A person met him and caught him, intending to take him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When they reached near the house of Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), the man freed his hand and ran away, entering the house of Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and clinging to him from behind. People mentioned this incident to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed and said, "Did he do that?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not issue any command regarding him.

He said, "Pray to your Lord." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, and at that very moment, a cloud rose from the east which gradually began to ascend and spread. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw this, he fell unconscious and collapsed. Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), lifted him up, and wiped the saliva that was coming out from both sides of his mouth.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform masah over the leather socks after the revelation of Surah Al-Ma'idah, and even in the wilderness, I prefer to wipe over the back of a camel rather than perform masah over the leather socks. Benefit: This is the personal opinion of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), otherwise, from the statements of the majority of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), it is known that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed masah over the leather socks after the revelation of Surah Al-Ma'idah.

(The one thing which they had actually heard would prove true, and what they added from themselves would prove false.) And before this, stars were not thrown at them, but when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent, whenever any of the jinn reached their place, a shower of shooting stars would begin upon them and they would be burned. They complained about this to Iblis. He said: The reason for this is nothing except that something new has happened. So he sent out his armies, and some of them passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who was praying between the mountains of Nakhlah. They came to Iblis and informed him of this news. He said: This is the real reason that has arisen on the earth.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man brought a waterskin of wine as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to meet him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What is this?" He replied that it was a waterskin of wine which he had brought as a gift for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know that Allah has declared wine to be unlawful?" He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has made wine unlawful." Upon hearing this, the man turned to his servant and whispered to him to take it and sell it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What did you say to him?" He replied: I ordered him to go and sell it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The One who has forbidden its drinking has also forbidden its buying and selling." Thus, on his order, the wine was poured out in the valley of Batha, and nothing of it remained.

If this wage had been unlawful, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would never have given it. And whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done, he would have it done on the veins on both sides of the neck. A slave from Banu Bayadah used to cup the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would take one and a half mudd of wheat daily as his wage. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to his masters about this, so they made it one mudd.

Upon this, the following verse was revealed: « ﴿وَلَاتَقُولُوالِمَنْأَلْقَىإِلَيْكُمُالسَّلَامَلَسْتَمُؤْمِنًاتَبْتَغُونَعَرَضَالْحَيَاةِالدُّنْيَا . . . . .﴾ [النساء : 94]» "And do not say to the one who greets you with peace, 'You are not a believer,' seeking the goods of worldly life . . . . ."

Upon this, the following verse was revealed: «﴿وَمَاقَدَرُوااللّٰهَحَقَّقَدْرِهِ﴾ [الزمر : 67]» "They did not appraise Allah with true appraisal as is His due."

So a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! The army has no water. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him, "Do you have a little water?" He said: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Bring it to me." After a short while, he brought a vessel in which there was very little water. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his fingers on the mouth of the vessel and spread them. Immediately, springs began to gush forth from the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to announce among the people: "Come and take the blessed water."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the time of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) passing drew near, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Bring me writing materials so that I may write for you a document after which you will never go astray.” At that time, there were many people in the house, among whom was Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him). He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is overcome by severe pain, and you have the Qur’an with you, and the Book of Allah is sufficient for us. At this, there arose a difference of opinion among the people; some were of the opinion that writing materials should be presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he could dictate something to them, and some agreed with the opinion of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). When the noise and disagreement increased, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Get up from me.” Upon this, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: Alas! Because of the people’s disagreement and noise, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was prevented from writing that document.
