This narration regarding the letter of Sayyiduna Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) is reported from different narrators, some of whom mention the name of the place as Rawdat Khakh, some mention only Khakh, and some say Rawdat such-and-such.

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that regarding any person upon whom I have enforced a legal punishment, I do not feel any uneasiness in my heart, except for the one who drinks alcohol. If, after administering the prescribed lashes to him, someone dies, then I pay his blood money, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not specify any fixed limit for it (whether forty lashes should be given or eighty).

He replied, "Did not Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) seek forgiveness for his polytheist father?" I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so this verse was revealed: «﴿مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ .....﴾ [التوبة : 113]» "It is not appropriate for the Prophet and the believers to seek forgiveness for the polytheists."

Suwaid bin Ghaflah says that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) once said: When I narrate to you a hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then falling from the sky is more beloved to me than attributing a lie to him, and when I say something from someone else, then I am a warrior, and war is nothing but strategy and trickery. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Near the Day of Judgment, there will emerge people whose age will be young and whose intellect will be foolish. They will speak the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but faith will not go beyond their throats. Wherever you find them, kill them, for killing them will be a source of reward on the Day of Judgment."
Hadith 1087
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As for what is mentioned in the Noble Qur'an: «﴿وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ﴾ [الواقعة : 82]» 'You have made this your portion, that you keep denying,' its meaning is that you say: Rain has fallen because of the rising and setting of such-and-such stars."

Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila says that my father used to converse with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at night about various matters. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) had a strange habit: he would wear warm clothes in the winter and cool clothes in the summer. Someone said to my father, "If you ask him about this, perhaps he will answer." So, when my father asked, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "Once, on the day of the Battle of Khaybar, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a messenger to me. I was suffering from an eye disease, so I said, 'O Messenger of Allah! I have an eye ailment.' Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put his saliva in my eyes and prayed: «اَللّٰهُمَّ أَذْهِبْ عَنْهُ الْحَرَّ وَالْبَرْدَ» 'O Allah! Remove from him the heat and the cold.' From that day until today, I have never felt heat or cold." On that occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said, "I will give this flag to the person who loves Allah and His Messenger, and who is beloved in the sight of Allah and His Messenger; he will not flee." The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began to present themselves for this purpose, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted that flag to me.

Shuraih bin Hani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) a question regarding wiping over the socks, so she said: "Ask this question to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he has more knowledge about this issue because he used to accompany the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during travels." So I asked Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The traveler is permitted to wipe over the socks for three days and three nights, and the resident for one day and one night."
Hadith 1120
It is narrated from Imam Sha’bi, may Allah have mercy on him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed ten types of people: the one who consumes usury, the one who gives usury to others, the one who writes usurious transactions, the witnesses to usurious transactions, the one who performs halalah, the one for whom halalah is performed, the one who withholds zakat, the woman who tattoos, and the woman who gets herself tattooed. And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wailing.
Hadith 1121
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever, while performing ghusl in a state of major impurity, leaves even an area equal to a single hair where water does not reach, Allah the Exalted will deal with him in such and such a manner in Hell." From that very moment, I became hostile towards my hair.
