It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) muezzin would give the adhan, he would wait for a while and would not say the iqamah until he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) coming out. When he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out, he would then begin the iqamah.

I was catching him; if I had caught him, he would not have been able to free himself from me until he would have been tied to one of the pillars of the mosque and the children of Madinah would have seen him.

Once, some food came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from somewhere which contained garlic. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent it to Hazrat Abu Ayyub in such a way and did not take anything from it himself. When Hazrat Abu Ayyub noticed that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had not taken anything from it, he brought the food back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that he had left it because of the smell of garlic. Upon hearing this, Hazrat Abu Ayyub said, "Then why did you send to me something which you yourself did not eat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Because an angel comes to me."
