Musnad Ahmad 18815 — Hadith of Jundub al-Bajali
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبَ بْنَ سُفْيَانَ ، يَقُولُ : شَهِدْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعِيدَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ فَلْيُعِدْ أُضْحِيَّتَهُ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَذْبَحْ فَلْيَذْبَحْ ، عَلَى اسْمِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon after offering the Eid prayer and said: Whoever has offered the sacrifice before the Eid prayer should offer another sacrifice in its place, and whoever has not slaughtered the animal before the Eid prayer should now slaughter it taking the name of Allah.
