Should One Say Adhan and Iqamah When Praying at Home?

Hazrat Ata says: I was in the company of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), son of Hussain, when we visited Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah. When the time for prayer arrived, he gave the call to prayer (Adhan) and then recited the Iqamah.

Ibn Aun narrates that Muhammad used to lead the prayer at home with iqamah.

Hazrat Maymoon says that when a man prays in his house, Iqamah is sufficient.

Hazrat Ata says that if a person is praying at home, it is better to say the Iqamah; however, if he does not say it, it is still permissible.

Hazrat Zuhri states that we have received information that some of the Companions, when they prayed at home, would give the adhan for Fajr, but for the other prayers they would suffice with only the iqamah.
