Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 36946 — The words of Isa (peace be upon him)

It was narrated to Al-Ala bin al-Musayyab by a man, who said: The disciples of Isa (peace be upon him) said to him: "What do you eat?" He said: "Barley bread." They said: "What do you wear?" He said: "Wool." They said: "What do you spread out to sleep on?" He said: "The ground." They said: "Taking up all of this is very hard." He said: "You will not attain the kingdom of the heavens until you prefer these things to pleasure." Or he said: "(Until you prefer them) to desires."
