Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 19081 — A man who gives his wife the choice
١٩٠٨١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا علي بن مسهر عن إسماعيل عن الشعبي عن مسروق قال: ما أبالي (خيرت) (١) امرأتي واحدة أو مائة أو ألفا بعد أن تختارني، ⦗١٨٣⦘ ولقد (أتيت) (٢) عائشة فسألتها عن ذلك فقالت: (قد) (٣) خيرنا رسول اللَّه ﷺ فاخترناه (أفكان) (٤) طلاقًا (٥).
Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I do not care whether I give my wife the choice once, a hundred times or a thousand times, once she has chosen me. I went to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about this, and she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us the choice and we chose him (peace and blessings be upon him); was that a divorce?
