Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 12613 — The lame, the insane
١٢٦١٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم أنه كان يقول: (فيمن) (١) كانت عليه رقبة، فاشترى نسمة، قال: إذا (أنفذها) (٢) من عمل إلى عمل أجزاه، (و) (٣) لا يجزيه من لا يعمل، فأما الذي يعمل فالأعور ونحوه، وأما الذي لا يعمل (فالمقعد والأعمى) (٤).
Ibrahim used to say regarding one who is obliged to free a slave and buys a slave: If the slave can go from one kind of work to another, he suffices him; a slave who cannot work does not suffice him. The one who can work is the one-eyed and the like; the one who cannot work is the crippled and the blind.
