It is narrated from the grandmother of Sulayman bin Amr bin al-Ahwas (may Allah have mercy on him), Umm Jundub al-Azdiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came while the people were crowding one another at the Jamrah or the Jamarat, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people, do not destroy yourselves, and stone the Jamarat with pebbles the size of small flicking-pebbles."

Sayyidah Umm Jundub (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stone Jamrat al-Aqabah from the bottom of the valley on the Day of Sacrifice while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a mount; then he departed. Then a woman from the tribe of Khath'am followed him (peace and blessings be upon him), and with her was a child of hers who was afflicted with an ailment. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is my son and all that remains of my family, and he has an ailment such that he cannot speak." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring me a little water." He (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his hands and rinsed his mouth, then gave that water to her and said: "Give him some of this water to drink and pour some of it over him, and ask Allah to cure him." Umm Jundub said: Then I met that woman and said: "I wish you had given me some of it too." She said: "It is only for this afflicted one." She said: Then I met the woman the following year and asked her about the boy. She said: "He was cured, and he was granted an understanding unlike that of ordinary people."

The mother of Sulayman bin Amr bin al-Ahwas (may Allah have mercy on him) (Sayyidah Umm Jundub, may Allah be pleased with her) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of Sacrifice at Jamrat al-Aqabah while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding his mule, and a man behind him (peace and blessings be upon him) was shielding him (peace and blessings be upon him) from the people. I asked about the man and was told: "This is al-Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)." The people crowded around him (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people, do not kill one another, and when you stone the Jamarat, stone with pebbles the size of small flicking-pebbles." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) went down into the bottom of the valley, stood facing the Jamrah, and threw seven pebbles at it from the bottom of the valley, saying the takbir with each pebble; then he departed.
