Sayyidah Sirin (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was present at the death of Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Whenever my sister and I cried out, and the women cried out, he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) did not forbid us; then when he died, he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) forbade us from crying out. He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) carried him to the edge of the grave, and Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was at his ((peace and blessings be upon him)) side. Fadl bin Abbas and Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them) went down into his grave, and I was weeping beside his grave. And there was a solar eclipse, so the people said: This is because of his death. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sun is not eclipsed for anyone's death or life." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gap in the grave and ordered that it be closed. It was said: O Messenger of Allah, does it benefit him? He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "Listen, it benefits him and does not harm him, but (the gap) bothers the eye of the living." He died on a Tuesday, when ten days of Rabi' al-Awwal had passed, in the year 10 AH.

Sayyidah Sirin (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When death came to the son of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and whenever my sister and I cried out, he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) forbade us from crying out. Fadl bin Abbas, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) washed him, and he was placed on a bier, then carried. I saw him ((peace and blessings be upon him)) sitting at the edge of the grave, with Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) at his ((peace and blessings be upon him)) side. Then Fadl bin Abbas and Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them) went down into his grave, and I was crying out beside the grave and no one forbade me. That day there was a solar eclipse, and the people said: This is because of the death of Ibrahim. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "An eclipse does not happen for anyone's death or life." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gap in the mud bricks and ordered that it be closed, and said: "When a servant does a task, Allah loves that he does it with perfection." He died on a Tuesday, when four days of Rabi' al-Awwal had passed, in the year 10 AH.
