Sayyidah Jamilah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I find no fault with Thabit bin Qays in his character or his religion, but I have an intense aversion to him, and I dislike (falling into) a state of disbelief while in Islam. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you return his garden to him?" She said: Yes. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Thabit to take from her only what he had given her as dowry, and not to take more.
