حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَا: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمَّتِي وَكَانَتْ قَدْ حَجَّتْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَالٌ أَوِ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَكَانَ يَصْعَدُ هَذَا وَيُنَزِّلُ هَذَا فَكُنَّا نَتَعَلَّقُ بِهِ كَمَا أَنْتَ حَتَّى نَتَسَحَّرَ "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Unaysah bint Khubayb (may Allah be pleased with her), who had performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bilal calls the adhan while it is still night, so eat and drink until Bilal or Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan." One of them would go up and the other would come down, and we would take hold of him and say: Stay as you are, until we have eaten the pre-dawn meal (suhur).
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ أُنَيْسَةَ وَكَانَتْ مُصَلِّيَةً، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ أَوْ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ بِلَالٌ أَوِ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» وَمَا كَانَ إِلَّا يُؤَذِّنُ أَحَدُهُمَا حَتَّى يَصْعَدَ الْآخَرُ فَنَأْخُذَهُ بِيَدِهِ فَنَقُولُ كَمَا أَنْتَ حَتَّى نَتَسَحَّرَ "
Sayyidah Unaysah (may Allah be pleased with her), who prayed a great deal, narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ibn Umm Maktum or Bilal calls the adhan while it is still night, so eat and drink until Bilal or Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan." As soon as one of them had called the adhan, the other would climb up, and we would take him by the hand and say: Stay as you are, until we have eaten the pre-dawn meal (suhur).
