حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، كِلَاهُمَا، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ، مَوْلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وُضُوءَهُ فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: أَوْصِنِي، فَقَالَ: «لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَإِنْ قُطِّعْتَ وَحُرِّقْتَ بِالنَّارِ، وَلَا تَعْصِيَنَّ وَالِدَيْكَ وَإِنْ أَمَرَاكَ أَنْ تُخَلِّي عَنْ أَهْلِكَ وَدُنْيَاكَ فَتُخَلِّهِ، وَلَا تَشْرَبَنَّ خَمْرًا فَإِنَّهَا رَأْسُ كُلِّ شَرٍّ، وَلَا تَتْرُكَنَّ صَلَاةً مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ وَذِمَّةُ رَسُولِهِ، وَلَا تَفِرَّنَّ يَوْمَ الزَّحْفِ، فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ بَاءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِنَ اللهِ، وَمَأْوَاهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ، وَلَا تَزْدَادَنَّ فِي تُخُومِ أَرْضِكَ فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ يَأْتِي بِهِ عَلَى رَقَبَتِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ مِقْدَارِ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ، وَأَنْفِقْ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ مِنْ طَوْلِكَ، وَلَا تَرْفَعْ عَصَاكَ عَنْهُمْ، وَأَخِفْهُمْ فِي اللهِ»
Sayyidah Umaymah (may Allah be pleased with her), the freed slave-woman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), said: I used to pour the water for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for his ablution. Meanwhile a man came and said: Advise me. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not associate anything with Allah, even if you are cut to pieces and burned in the fire. Never disobey your parents, even if they order you to leave your family and your wealth; then leave them. Never drink wine, for it is the head of every evil. Never abandon a prayer deliberately, for whoever does that, the protection of Allah and the protection of His Messenger is withdrawn from him. Never flee from the battlefield on the day of the advance, for whoever does that returns with the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell, and what an evil destination it is. Never add (unjustly) to the boundaries of your land, for whoever does that will come on the Day of Resurrection carrying it on his neck, to the extent of seven earths. Spend on your family according to your means, do not lift your stick from them (that is, your discipline and supervision), and keep them in fear regarding Allah."
