حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمَيْمَةُ بِنْتُ رُقَيْقَةَ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ أُبَايِعُهُ فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيْنَا مَا فِي الْقُرْآنِ: «لَا تَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا تَزْنِينَ وَلَا تَقْتُلْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ وَلَا تَأْتِينَ بِبُهْتَانٍ تَفْتَرِينَهُ» ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَنَا: «فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَقْتُنَّ» قُلْنَا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا تُصَافِحُنَا؟ قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَا أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ كَقَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ»
Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I came with some women to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to give the pledge of allegiance, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) laid upon us the same condition that is in the Qur'an: "Do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not kill your children, and do not bring a slander that you have invented." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "As far as you are able and have the strength." We said: Allah and His Messenger are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves. We said: O Messenger of Allah, will you not shake hands with us? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not shake hands with women. My word to one woman is the same as my word to a hundred women."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَا: ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتِ رُقَيْقَةَ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ نُبَايِعُهُ، فَقُلْنَ: نُبَايِعُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلَى أَنْ لَا نُشْرِكَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا نَسْرِقَ، وَلَا نَزْنِي، وَلَا نَقْتُلَ أَوْلَادَنَا، وَلَا نَأْتِيَ بِبُهْتَانٍ نَفْتَرِيَهِ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَأَرْجُلِنَا، وَلَا نَعْصِيَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَقْتُنَّ» فَقُلْنَ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا، هَلُمَّ فَلْنُبايِعُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَا أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ كَقَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ أَوْ مِثْلُ قُولِي لِامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ»
Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I came with some women to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to give the pledge of allegiance. The women said: O Messenger of Allah, we pledge to you that we will not associate anything with Allah, we will not steal, we will not commit adultery, we will not kill our children, we will not bring a slander that we have invented between our hands and our feet (that is, we will not attribute someone else's child to our husbands), and we will not disobey you in anything good. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As far as you have the strength and are able." We said: Allah and His Messenger are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves. Come, O Messenger of Allah, let us give you the pledge. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not shake hands with women. My word to a hundred women is the same as my word to one woman, or like my word to one woman."
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتِ رُقَيْقَةَ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسَاءٍ فَقَالَ: «تُبَايِعْنَ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكْنَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا تَسْرِقْنَ، وَلَا تَزْنِينَ» الْآيَةُ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَقْتُنَّ» قُلْنَا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا، قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْنَا، قَالَ: «لَا أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ كَقَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ»
Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I came with some women to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pledge that you will not associate anyone with Allah, you will not steal, and you will not commit adultery," according to the complete verse. Then he said: "As far as you have the strength and are able." We said: Allah and His Messenger are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves. We said: O Messenger of Allah, take our pledge. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not shake hands with women. My word to a hundred women among you is the same as my word to one woman."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتَ رُقَيْقَةَ التَّيْمِيَّةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ، أَنَّهَا أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسَاءٍ فَقَالَ: «تُبَايِعْنَ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكْنَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا تَسْرِقْنَ، وَلَا تَزْنِينَ» الْآيَةُ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُنَّ وَأَطَقْتُنَّ» فَقُلْنَ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ وأرحمُ بِنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا، وَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْنَا قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَا أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِمِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ كَقَوْلِي لِامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah al-Taymiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she came with some women to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pledge that you will not associate anyone with Allah, you will not steal, and you will not commit adultery," according to the complete verse. Then he fell silent, then said: "As far as you have the strength and are able." We said: Allah and His Messenger know best and are more merciful to us than we are to ourselves. And we said: O Messenger of Allah, take our pledge. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not shake hands with women. My word to a hundred women is the same as my word to one woman."
حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَنَدِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زِيَادٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو قُرَّةَ مُوسَى بْنُ طَارِقٍ قَالَ: ذَكَرَ زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتَ رُقَيْقَةَ، تَقُولُ: إِنَّهَا بَايَعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيْهَا مَا اشْتَرَطَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «فِيمَا أَطَقْتِ»
Muhammad bin al-Munkadir related that he heard Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) say that she gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) laid upon her the same condition that he laid upon the believing women. Then he said: "As far as you are able."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتَ رُقَيْقَةَ، تَزْعُمُ أَنَّهَا بَايَعْتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيْهَا مَا اشْتَرَطَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «فِيمَا أَطَقْتِ يَا ابْنَةَ رُقَيْقَةَ»
Muhammad bin al-Munkadir related that he heard Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) state that she gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) laid upon her the same condition that is laid upon the believing women in the Book of Allah. Then he said: "As far as you are able, O daughter of Ruqayqah!"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْغَلَابِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْغُدَانِيُّ، أَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَامِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أُمَيْمَةَ بِنْتِ رُقَيْقَةَ التَّيْمِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ فَقُلْنَا نُبَايِعُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، عَلَى أَنْ لَا نُشْرِكَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا، وَلَا نَسْرِقَ، وَلَا نَزْنِي، وَلَا نَأْتِيَ بِبُهْتَانٍ نَفْتَرِيَهُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَأَرْجُلِنَا، وَلَا نَعْصِيَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فِيمَا أَطَقْتُنَّ وَاسْتَطَعْتُنَّ» فَقُلْنَا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْحَمُ بِنَا فَبَايِعْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ: «إِنِّي لَا أُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ وَإِنَّمَا قَوْلِي لِمِائَةٍ كَقَوْلِي لِوَاحِدَةٍ»
Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah al-Taymiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I came with some women to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and we said: O Messenger of Allah, we pledge to you that we will not associate anyone with Allah, we will not steal, we will not commit adultery, we will not bring a slander that we have invented between our hands and our feet (that is, we will not attribute someone else's child to our husbands), and we will not disobey you in anything good. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As far as you have the strength and are able." We said: Allah and His Messenger are merciful to us.
