Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mention the Sidrat al-Muntaha (the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A hundred riders take shade in the shade of one of its branches," or he said: "A hundred riders travel in the shade of one of its branches; on it are moths of gold, and its fruits are like large jars."

Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for the emigration and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) set out with him, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) took with him five thousand dirhams, or six thousand dirhams, and departed with them. Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Then our grandfather Abu Quhafah came to us, and he had lost his sight. He said: By Allah, I see that he (Abu Bakr) has grieved you by taking his wealth along with himself. I said: Not at all, O father! He has left much good for us. Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I took some stones and put them in the niche in the house where my father used to keep his wealth, then I put a cloth over them, then I took his hand and said: Place your hand on this wealth. He placed his hand and said: There is no harm if he has left this wealth for you. Then he lifted his hand and said: If he has left this for you, he has done well, and in this there is sufficiency for you. Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: By Allah, he had not left us anything, but I wanted to reassure the old man by this.

Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) halted at Dhu Tuwa, Abu Quhafah said to one of his daughters, from the youngest of his children: O daughter! Take me up onto (Mount) Abu Qubays. She said: And he had lost his sight. She said: I climbed up onto it with him, and he said: O daughter! What do you see? She said: I see a gathered mass of black (a great crowd). He said: That is the cavalry. She said: And I see a man running back and forth in the midst of that mass. He said: O daughter, that is the wazi', that is, the one who commands the cavalry. Now take me quickly to my house. She said: The cavalry met them before he reached his house. She said: The girl had a silver necklace around her neck; a man met her and tore it from her neck. Then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah and went into the Mosque, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) brought his father to him, leading him by the hand. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him, he said: "Why did you not leave the old man in his house, so that I would come to him myself?" Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! He is more deserving that he should walk to you. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) seated him in front of himself, then stroked his chest and said: "Accept Islam." His head was white like thaghamah (a white plant), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Change this colour of his hair." Then Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, took his sister by the hand and said: I implore you by Allah and by Islam for my sister's necklace. No one answered him, so he said: O my little sister! Count your necklace as a reward with Allah (that is, do not hope for its return), for by Allah, trustworthiness among people today has become very little.

When we were at al-Arj, we halted; Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was at his (peace and blessings be upon him) side and I was at my father's side. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sat waiting for his servant, and our mount and the mount of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) were one and the same. Then the servant appeared, and his camel was not with him. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him: Where is your camel? He said: I lost it last night. She said: Just one camel, and you lose it too!
