حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَالِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا غَالِبُ بْنُ قَائِدٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَتْ لَنَا شَاةٌ فَمَاتَتْ فَطَرَحْنَاهَا فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «أَفَلَا انْتَفَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا؟» فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا فَسَلَخْنَا جِلْدَهَا، ثُمَّ دَبَغْنَاهُ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سُقْيًا فَشَرِبْنَا فِيهِ حَتَّى صَارَ شَنًّا "
Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We had a goat that died, so we threw it away. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "Why did you not benefit from its skin?" So we sent for it and stripped off its skin, then tanned it and made it into a waterskin, and we kept drinking from it until it became a worn-out waterskin.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، أَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ شَاةً لِسَوْدَةَ مَاتَتْ، قَالَتْ: «فَدَبَغْنَا جِلْدَهَا فَكُنَّا نَنْبِذُ فِيهِ حَتَّى صَارَ شَنًّا بَالِيًا»
A goat of Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) died, and she said: "We tanned its skin, and we kept making nabidh in it until it became a worn-out waterskin."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا مَنْفَعُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: «كَانَتْ لَنَا شَاةٌ فَمَاتَتْ فَدَبَغْنَا مَسْكَهَا، فَمَا زِلْنَا نَنْبِذُ فِيهِ حَتَّى صَارَ شَنًّا»
Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: "We had a goat that died, so we tanned its skin, and we kept making nabidh in it until it became an old, worn-out waterskin."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ، قَالَتْ: مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مَيْتَةٍ فَقَالَ: «هَلَّا اسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا»
Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a dead goat and said: "Why did you not benefit from its skin?"
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ الْقَنَّادُ، ثنا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَتْ لَنَا شَاةٌ فَمَاتَتْ فَرَمَيْنَا بِهَا، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «مَا فَعَلَتْ شَاتُكُمْ؟» قُلْنَا: مَاتَتْ فَطَرَحْنَاهَا، فَقَالَ: «أَفَلَا انْتَفَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا؟» فَقُلْتُ: هِيَ مَيْتَةٌ، فَقَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: {قُلْ لَا أَجِدُ فِيمَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ مَيْتَةً} «إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تَطْعَمُوهَا» فَأَرْسَلُوا بِإِهَابِهَا فَدَبَغُوهُ، فَاتَّخَذُوهُ حَتَّى كَانَ عِنْدَهُمْ شَنًّا "
Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We had a goat that died, so we threw it away. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "What happened to your goat?" We said: It died, and we threw it away. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not benefit from its skin?" I said: But it is carrion. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Say: I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to one who would eat it, unless it be carrion," "Allah has only forbidden you to eat it." So they sent for its skin, tanned it and kept using it until it became an old, worn-out waterskin with them.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، أَنَّ شَاةً لَهُمْ مَاتَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «هَلَّا أَخَذْتُمْ جِلْدَهَا فَدَبَغْتُمُوهُ وَانْتَفَعْتُمْ بِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a sheep of theirs died, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not take its skin, tan it and benefit from it?"
