حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، مَوْلَى التَّوْأَمَةِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَتْ سَوْدَةُ، وَزَيْنَبُ: لَا يُحَرِّكُنَا الْبَعِيرُ أَبَدًا بَعْدَمَا سَمِعْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَعْنِيَانِ قَوْلَهُ: «هَذِهِ ثُمَّ ظُهُورُ الْحُصْرِ» قَالَ: فَكُنَّ أَزْوَاجُهُ يَحْجُجْنَ إِلَّا هُمَا
Salih, the mawla of al-Taw'amah, narrates from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): Sawdah and Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: A camel will never move us again, after what we heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), meaning his (peace and blessings be upon him) words: "This journey, then staying on the mats at home." The narrator said: So his (peace and blessings be upon him) wives continued to perform Hajj, except these two.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ثنا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِذَا مَشَى صَلَّى لَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ حَتَّى يَأْتِينَا، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَوْ تَعْلَمِينَ عَلِمَ الْمَوْتِ يَا ابْنَةَ زَمْعَةَ عَلِمْتِ أَنَّهُ أَشَدَّ مِمَّا تُقَدِّرِينَ»
Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! When he walks, should Uthman bin Maz'un lead us in prayer until he comes to us? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "O daughter of Zam'ah! If you had knowledge of death, you would know that it is far more severe than you estimate."
حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُبْعَثُ النَّاسُ حُفَاةً عُرَاةً غُرْلًا قَدْ أَلْجَمَهُمُ الْعَرَقُ وَبَلَغَ شُحُومَ الْآذَانِ» فَقُلْتُ: يُبْصِرُ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا؟ فَقَالَ: «شُغِلَ النَّاسُ» {لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ} [عبس: ٣٧]
Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her), said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will be raised barefoot, naked and uncircumcised, with sweat reaching their mouths and up to their earlobes." I said: Will we see one another? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will be preoccupied," "For every person among them that Day will be a concern sufficient for him." [Surah Abasa: 37]
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ، قَالَ: قُدِمَ بِأُسَارَى بَدْرٍ، وَسَوْدَةُ بِنْتُ زَمْعَةَ عِنْدِ آلِ عَفْرَاءَ فِي مَنَاخِهِمْ عَلَى عَوْفٍ، وَمُعَوِّذٍ ابْنِي عَفْرَاءَ، وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُضْرَبَ عَلَيْهِنَّ الْحِجَابُ، قَالَتْ: فَقِيلَ قُدِمَ بِأُسَارَى بَدْرٍ فَأَتَيْتُ مَنْزِلِي، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِسُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَفِي نَاحِيَةِ الْحُجْرَةِ مَجْمُوعَةٌ يَدَاهُ إِلَى عُنُقَهِ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُ مَا مَلَكَتُ نَفْسِي قُلْتُ: أَبَا يَزِيدَ أُعْطِيتُمْ مَا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ أَلَا مُتُّمْ كِرَامًا؟ قَالَتْ: فَوَاللهِ مَا نَبَّهَنِي إِلَّا قَوْلُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ دَاخِلِ الْبَيْتِ: «أَعَلَى اللهِ وَعَلَى رَسُولِهِ؟» فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنْ مَلَكْتُ نَفْسِي حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَبَا يَزِيدَ أَنْ قُلْتُ مَا قُلْتُ
Yahya bin Abdullah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Sa'd bin Zurarah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The captives of Badr were brought, and Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) was (at that time) with the family of Afra' at their place, on account of the two sons of Afra', Awf and Mu'awwidh. This was before the command of the veil was imposed on the wives. She said: It was said that the captives of Badr had been brought, so I came to my house, and there was Suhayl bin Amr in a corner of the room, with both his hands tied to his neck. When I saw him, I could not control myself, and I said: O Abu Yazid! You people surrendered (yourselves) to them! Why did you not die honourably? She said: By Allah! Nothing alerted me except the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from inside the house: "Against Allah and His Messenger?" So I said: O Messenger of Allah! When I saw Abu Yazid, I could not control myself and said what I said.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْوَكِيعِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ، «أَنَّهَا وَهَبَتْ يَوْمَهَا لِعَائِشَةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she gifted her turn to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
حَدَّثَنَا وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعِرْقِيُّ، ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ هُذَيْلَ بْنَ شُرَحْبِيلَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَهَا شَاةٌ مَيْتَةٌ الْحَدِيثَ
Abu Qays (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard Hudhayl bin Shurahbil narrating from one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a goat of hers had died, and then the narrator narrated the full hadith.
