It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are present with a sick person or a deceased person, say good things, for the angels say Amin to what you say." Then when Abu Salamah died, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Abu Salamah has died. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: O Allah, forgive me and him, and grant me a good replacement in his place." I did so, and Allah granted me one better than him: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her and said: O mother! I fear that my abundant wealth will destroy me; I am the wealthiest of Quraysh. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: My son! Give in charity, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Among my Companions are some who will not see me again after I die." So Abd al-Rahman went out and met Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and told him what Umm Salamah had said. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and went in to her and asked: Am I one of them? She said: No, and after you I will not say this to anyone.
