حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: ثنا نَبْهَانُ مُكَاتَبُ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الْمُكَاتَبِ مَا يُؤَدِّي، فَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When the mukatab (a slave who has contracted to buy his freedom) has enough wealth with which he can pay the price of his freedom, then observe hijab from him."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مُكَاتَبٍ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ نَبْهَانُ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا وَجَدَ الْمُكَاتَبُ مَا يُؤَدِّي، فَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When the mukatab finds enough wealth with which he can pay, then observe hijab from him."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ نَبْهَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ مَيْمُونَةُ، فَأَقْبَلَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْثُومٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «احْتَجِبَا مِنْهُ» ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَيْسَ بِأَعْمَى لَا يُبْصِرُنَا وَلَا يَعْرِفُنَا؟، فَقَالَ: «وَإِنْ أَنْتُمَا أَلَسْتُمَا تُبْصِرَانِهِ؟»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) was also with him, when Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) came. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Both of you observe hijab from him." We said: O Messenger of Allah, is he not blind, so that he can neither see us nor recognise us? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And if (he is blind), what of you two? Do you not see him?"
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ الْعِجْلِيُّ، ثنا خَلَّادُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ نَبْهَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ «يُبَاشِرُهَا وَهِيَ طَامِثٌ وَعَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would be intimate with her (short of intercourse) even while she was menstruating, while she had a waist-wrapper (izar) tied on.
