حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمَلِيحِ، يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ: «إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ قَالَ كَمَا يَقُولُ حَتَّى يَسْكُتَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the mu'adhdhin, he would repeat the same words that he said, until he fell silent.
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدِي فَسَمِعَ الْمُنَادِيَ، قَالَ كَمَا يَقُولُ حَتَّى يَسْكُتَ»
Sayyidah Umm Habibah bint Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the paternal aunt of Abdullah bin Utbah, says that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was with me and heard the caller to prayer, he would repeat the same words that he said, until he fell silent.
