حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سُمَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي طَرِيفٍ، قَالَ: «كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَيْثُ حَاصَرَ الطَّائِفَ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ حِينًا، لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا رَمَى لَرَأَى مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Tarif al-Hudhali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) besieged Ta'if. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in the Asr prayer at a time when, if a man shot an arrow, he could see where his arrow landed.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سُمَيْرَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو طَرِيفٍ: أَنَّهُ " شَاهَدَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُحَاصِرٌ لِأَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ حِينًا لَوْ أَنَّ إِنْسَانًا رَمَى بِنَبْلِهِ أَبْصَرَ مَوَاقِعَ النَّبْلِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tarif al-Hudhali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) was besieging the people of Ta'if. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in the Asr prayer at a time when, if a person shot his arrow, he could see where the arrow landed.
