Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I took part with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Expedition of al-Usrah (the expedition of hardship). And Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: That expedition is, in my view, the most reliable of my deeds. I had a hired worker, and he fought with a man, and one of them bit the other. The one who was bitten pulled his hand out of the biter's mouth, and one of the biter's two front teeth came out. They both came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) declared his tooth forfeit (with no compensation). (The narrator said:) I think he related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "Should he leave his hand in your mouth for you to chew it, as though it were in the mouth of a male camel chewing it?"

Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I took part with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Expedition of Tabuk on an unruly young camel, and this (expedition) was, in my view, among the most reliable of my deeds. I had hired a worker, and my worker fought with a man. That man bit my worker's hand, so my worker pulled his hand out of his mouth, and his (the biter's) tooth broke. He (the biter) brought the case to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it (compensation for the tooth) forfeit and said: "Should he leave his hand in your mouth for you to chew it as a male camel chews?"

Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I travelled with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Expedition of Tabuk on an unruly camel, and I had a hired worker of mine with me. My worker fought with a man; that man bit him, so the worker pulled his hand out of his mouth, and his tooth fell out. He was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Should he leave his hand in your mouth for you to chew it as a male camel chews?" And he (peace and blessings be upon him) declared that tooth forfeit.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who had bitten another man's hand; that other man pulled his hand away, and the biter's tooth fell out. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it void (no compensation) and said: "Did you want to chew it the way a stallion camel chews?"
Hadith Referenceالمعجم الكبير للطبراني / باب الياء / 18871
Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) and his paternal uncle Salamah bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate that they both set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the expedition of Tabuk, and we had a companion of ours with us. A man from among the people fought with him and bit him, so our companion pulled his hand out of his mouth, and part of his mouth (a tooth) fell out. He went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and demanded blood money from him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Does one of you go to his brother and bite him like a stallion camel bites, and then come demanding blood money?" And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared that tooth void (no compensation).
