It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me what is lawful for me and what is unlawful for me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) looked me over from head to foot, then said: "Nuwaybitah." I said: O Messenger of Allah, is it a good nuwaybitah or a bad one? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, it is a good nuwaybitah. Do not eat the meat of the domestic donkey, nor of any predator with fangs."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): We live as neighbours of the People of the Book; they cook pork in their pots and drink wine from their vessels. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you find something other than them, eat and drink from that; and if you find nothing other than them, wash them with water, then eat and drink from them."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The people's way was that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) halted at a place to camp, they would scatter in the mountain passes and valleys. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and said: "This is only the work of Satan." After that, whenever they halted at a place, they would gather close to one another, so much so that you would say that if a single cloak were spread over them, it would cover them all, or something to that effect.
