حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَائِشِيُّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، وَقَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءِ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَا بِأَرْضُ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَنَطْبُخُ فِي قُدُورِهِمْ وَنَشْرَبُ فِي آنِيَتِهِمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا لَمْ تَجِدُوا غَيْرَهَا فَارْحَضُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ» ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا بِأَرْضِ صَيْدٍ فَكَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ؟، قَالَ: «إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ الْمُكَلَّبَ، وَذَكَرْتَ اسْمَ اللهِ فَكُلْ، وَإِنْ كَانَ غَيْرَ مُكَلَّبٍ فَذَكِ وَكُلْ، وَإِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ سَهْمَكَ وَذَكَرْتَ اسْمَ اللهِ فَكُلْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: O Messenger of Allah, I am in the land of the People of the Book; we cook in their pots and drink from their vessels. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you find nothing other than them, wash them with water." He said: O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land of game, so what should we do? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you send out your trained dog after game and mention the name of Allah, eat; and if it is not trained, slaughter it and eat; and when you shoot your arrow and mention the name of Allah, eat."
حَدَّثَنَا طَالِبُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ الْأَذَنِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّبَّاعُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَا: ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءِ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّا نَحْتَاجُ إِلَى آنِيَةِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي أَسْفَارِنَا فَنَطْبُخُ فِيهَا وَنَشْرَبُ فِيهَا، فَقَالَ: «اغْسِلُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ اطْبُخُوا فِيهَا وَاشْرَبُوا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): We need the vessels of the polytheists on our journeys; we cook in them and drink from them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wash them with water, then cook in them and drink."
