Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I mentioned fortune (luck) in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); one person said: My fortune is in horses, another said: My fortune is in camels, and another said: My fortune is in sheep. Meanwhile the time for prayer came, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in prayer. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head from bowing (ruku'), he said: "Allah hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, to You belongs all praise, filling the heavens and filling the earth, and filling whatever else You will thereafter. None can withhold what You give, none can give what You withhold, none can turn back what You decree, and the fortune of the fortunate avails him nothing against You."

Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) complaining about his neighbour. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Throw your belongings out onto the road." So he threw them out, and people began passing by him and cursing him (the neighbour). He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! What I have had to endure from the people! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And what have you met from them?" He said: They curse me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has already cursed you before the people." He said: Then I will not do it again. Then the man who had complained came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Pick up your belongings, for you have been spared (his harm)."
