It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mihjan bin al-Adra' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque, and there was a man who had completed his prayer and was sitting in the tashahhud, saying: O Allah, I ask You, by Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient, who did not beget and was not begotten, and to whom no one is equal, that You forgive me my sins; indeed You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has been forgiven, he has been forgiven, he has been forgiven."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mihjan bin al-Adra' (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand until we climbed Mount Uhud. He looked out over Madinah and said: "Woe to this town! Its inhabitants will leave it when it is at its most flourishing. The Dajjal will come to it and find at every one of its passes an angel with a drawn sword." Then he descended until he reached the mosque, where a man was standing, praying and reciting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you think he is Abdullah bin Qays? Indeed, he is one who sighs much in humility, and forbearing." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall I not give him this glad tiding?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Do not let him hear it, or you will destroy him." Then he descended, and when we reached the mosque we found Buraydah al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) at one of the doors of the mosque, and in the mosque there was a man who was prolonging his prayer. Buraydah was fond of jesting, and he said: "O Mihjan, do you not pray the way Sukbah prays?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him no reply and went back. When he reached his house he said: "The best of our religion is the easiest of it; the best of your religion is the easiest of it; the best of your religion is the easiest of it; the best of your religion is the easiest of it," saying it three times.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mihjan bin al-Adra' (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me for a need. Then, as I was coming out along the road of Madinah, he came across me and took my hand. We set off until we climbed Mount Uhud. He turned towards Madinah and said: "Woe to this town! Its inhabitants will leave it when it is at its most prosperous." I said: "O Prophet of Allah, who will eat its fruit?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The birds and the beasts of prey will eat freely, and the Dajjal will not be able to enter it; whenever he wants to enter it, he will be met at every one of its passes by an angel with a drawn sword." Then he went on until he reached the door of the mosque, and there was a man praying. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is he saying it sincerely?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is so-and-so; he is the one who prays the most among the people of Madinah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not let him hear it, or you will destroy him."

Sayyiduna Mihjan bin al-Adra' al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to Hajiz, on the right side of Madinah, for a need. When I returned, I went along with him until he climbed Uhud and looked out over Madinah, and said: "Woe to this town! Its inhabitants will leave it when it is in its best state." Then he descended and I descended with him until we reached the door of the mosque. He saw a man praying, so he placed his hand on my shoulder and lit him up with his light, then said: "Is he saying it sincerely?" He said this three times. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is so-and-so and so-and-so; he is the most devoted in worship among the people of Madinah." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Be careful, do not let him hear it, or you will destroy him," and he said this too three times.
Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is pleased with ease for this Ummah and dislikes hardship for it," and he said this too three times.
