Asim bin Humayd al-Sakuni (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: We came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for the Isha prayer, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed coming out to us, until someone said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) has prayed and will not come out, while only a few were saying: He will come out. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and said: "Delay this prayer, for you have been favoured through it over all other nations, and no one before you prayed it."

Asim bin Humayd al-Sakuni (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out with him, giving him advice. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned to look towards Madinah and said: "These people of my household think that they are the most entitled of people (to me), but it is not so. My allies among you are only the God-fearing, whoever they may be and wherever they may be. O Allah, I do not permit them to corrupt what You have set right. By Allah, my nation will be overturned upon its religion just as a vessel is overturned in an open plain."

Asim bin Humayd al-Sakuni (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him to Yemen, he went out with him, giving him advice. Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was walking beside his mount. When he had finished, he said: "O Mu'adh! It may be that you will not meet me after this year of mine, and perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave." So Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) wept in grief at parting from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Do not weep, O Mu'adh, for weeping is from Satan."
