حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُنِيبٍ الْجُرَشِيِّ، قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ حِينَ وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِالشَّامِ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ رَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ، وَدَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ، وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ، اللهُمَّ أَعْطِ لِآلِ مُعَاذٍ حَظَّهُمْ مِنْ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ»
Abu Munib al-Jurashi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us when the plague broke out in Syria, and he said: "This matter is a mercy from your Lord, the supplication of your Prophet, and the (manner of) death of the righteous before you. O Allah, grant the family of Mu'adh their share of this matter."
