Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Hudayj al-Sakuni (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I prayed the Maghrib prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) made an error and gave the salam after two rak'ahs. A man said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah, you made an error; you gave the salam after two rak'ahs." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and he called the iqamah for the prayer, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the remaining rak'ah. The people asked me about the man who had said: "O Messenger of Allah, you made an error," and it was said: "Do you know him?" I said: "No, unless I see him." Then he passed by me, and I said: "This is the man." The people said: "This is Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him)."
