حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ حُنَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ عُقْبَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ الصَّوْمُ فِي السَّفَرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Fasting while travelling is not part of the Sunnah."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السَّمْتِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنْ نَهْشَلٍ التَّمِيمِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مِرَارًا إِذَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَتَشَهَّدَ تَشَهَّدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا يَتَشَهَّدُ، فَإِذَا قَالَ: حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ، قَالَ: «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ» ، فَإِذَا قَالَ: حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ، قَالَ أَيْضًا: «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»
The narrator relates: I heard Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say many times that when the muezzin called the adhan and pronounced the testimony, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would also repeat the words of the testimony just as the muezzin said them; then when he said "Hayya 'ala al-salah (Come to prayer)", he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no might and no power except with Allah)"; and when he said "Hayya 'ala al-falah (Come to success)", he (peace and blessings be upon him) would again say the same: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah."
