حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، قَالُوا: ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ السَّمَّاكُ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: " وُلِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْفِيلِ، وَبَيْنَ الْفِجَارِ وَبَيْنَ الْفِيلِ عِشْرُونَ سَنَةً، قَالَ: سَمُّوا الْفِجَارَ لِأَنَّهُمْ فَجَرُوا وَأَحَلُّوا أَشْيَاءَ كَانُوا يُحَرِّمُونَهَا، وَكَانَ بَيْنَ الْفِجَارِ وَبَيْنَ بِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ خَمْسُ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، وَبَيْن بِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ وَبَيْنَ مَبْعَثِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَمْسُ سِنِينَ، فَبُعِثَ نَبِيُّنَا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعِينَ "
Sayyiduna Qays bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was born in the Year of the Elephant, and between the war of Fijar and the Year of the Elephant there were twenty years. Fijar was called Fijar because they committed transgression and made lawful things they used to consider unlawful. Between Fijar and the building of the Ka'bah there were fifteen years, and between the building of the Ka'bah and the sending of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as a messenger there were five years; and our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent at the age of forty.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَكَّائِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ قَالَ: «وُلِدْتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ، عَامَ الْفِيلِ، فَنَحْنُ لِدَّانِ»
Sayyiduna Qays bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) were both born in the Year of the Elephant, so we are of the same age.
