Sayyiduna Fadalah al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me, and among the things he taught me was that he said: "Guard the five prayers." I said: These are hours in which I have occupations, so tell me something comprehensive which, if I do it, will suffice for me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Guard the two Asrs." I said: What are the two Asrs? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A prayer before the sun rises, and a prayer before it sets."

Sayyiduna Fadalah al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and whoever had a representative (sponsor) would stay with his representative, and whoever had no representative (sponsor) would stay in the Suffah; so I stayed in the Suffah. The narrator said: A man called out to him on Friday and said: O Messenger of Allah, the dates have burned our stomachs. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon - or whoever of you lives - large dishes of food will be brought to him morning and evening, and you will cover the walls (with cloth) just as the Ka'bah is covered."
