Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said the salam (ending the prayer) after three rak'ahs of the Asr prayer, then went into his apartment. A man called al-Khirbaq, who had long hands, stood up and went to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, you have shortened the prayer. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) came out angry, dragging his cloak, and said: "Is he telling the truth?" The Companions said: Yes. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and prayed that rak'ah.
