It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jealousy is of two kinds: one of them Allah loves and the other Allah hates. And pride (swaggering) is also of two kinds: one of them Allah loves and the other Allah hates. Jealousy in archery is loved by Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and jealousy in other than that is hated by Allah. And pride: when a man gives charity, (pride in it) is loved by Allah, and pride in arrogance is hated by Allah." And he said: "Three people's supplications are answered: the father, the traveller and the oppressed." And he said: "Allah Almighty admits three people into Paradise because of a single arrow: the one who makes it, the one who gifts it, and the one who shoots it in the path of Allah."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, admits into Paradise because of a single arrow the one who makes it while intending good in making it, and also the one who shoots it and the one who gifts it." And he said: "Practise archery and ride, and that you practise archery is more beloved to me than that you ride. Everything with which a man amuses himself is futile, except training his horse, shooting with his bow, and playing with his wife."
