حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ، ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَ أَبُو سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُدْخِلُ بِالسَّهْمِ الْوَاحِدِ الْجَنَّةَ صَانِعَهُ يَحْتَسِبُ فِي صَنْعَتِهِ الْخَيْرَ، وَالرَّامِيَ بِهِ وَالْمُهْدِيَ بِهِ» وَقَالَ: «ارْمُوا وَارْكَبُوا، وَأَنْ تَرْمُوا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ تَرْكَبُوا، كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَلْهُو بِهِ الرَّجُلُ فَهُوَ بَاطِلٌ إلَّا تَأْدِيبَهُ فَرَسَهُ وَرَمْيَهُ بِقَوْسِهِ وَمُلَاعَبَتَهُ امْرَأَتَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, admits into Paradise because of a single arrow the one who makes it while intending good in making it, and also the one who shoots it and the one who gifts it." And he said: "Practise archery and ride, and that you practise archery is more beloved to me than that you ride. Everything with which a man amuses himself is futile, except training his horse, shooting with his bow, and playing with his wife."
