حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْعُرْسَ بْنَ عُمَيْرَةَ، وَكَان مِن أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إنَّ الْمَرْءَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْل النَّارِ الْبُرْهَةَ مِن دَهْرِهِ، ثُمّ تُعْرَضُ لَه الْجَادَّةُ مِن جَوَادِّ الْجَنَّةِ، فَيَعْمَلُ بِهَا حَتَّى يَمُوتَ عَلَيْهَا، وَذَلِك لِمَا كُتِبَ لَه، وَإنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْبُرْهَةَ مِن دَهْرِهِ، ثُمّ تُعْرَضُ لَه الْجَادَّةُ مِن جَوَادِّ النَّارِ فَيَعْمَلُ بِهَا حَتَّى يَمُوتَ عَلَيْهَا وَذَلِك لِمَا كُتِبَ لَهُ "
Sayyiduna al-'Urs bin Amirah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Indeed, a man does the deeds of the people of Hell for a period of his life, then one of the paths of Paradise appears before him, and he acts upon it until he dies upon it; and that is in accordance with what has been written for him. And indeed, a man does the deeds of the people of Paradise for a period of his life, then one of the paths of Hell appears before him, and he acts upon it until he dies upon it; and that too is in accordance with what has been written for him."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ، ثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ يَقُولُ: ثَنَا رَجَاءُ بْنُ حَيْوَةَ، وَالْعُرْسُ بْنُ عُمَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِن حَضْرَمَوْتَ وامْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ بْنُ عَابِسٍ كَان بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ آخَرَ خُصُومَةٌ فِي أَرْضٍ لَه فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ الْبَيِّنَةَ، فَلَمْ يَكُن لَه بَيِّنَةٌ، فَقَضَى عَلَى امْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ بِالْيَمِينِ، فَقَالَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَمْكَنْتَهُ مِن الْيَمِينِ ذَهَبَ وَاللهِ بِأَرْضِي، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ كَاذِبَةٍ لِيَقْتَطِعَ بِهِ مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَقِيَ اللهُ وَهُو عَلَيْه غَضْبَانُ» وَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ امْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ فَتَلَا عَلَيْه هَذِه الْآيَةَ فَقَالَ امْرُؤُ الْقَيْسِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَمَا لِمَنْ تَرَكَهَا؟ قَالَ: «الْجَنَّةُ» قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أُشْهِدُك أَنِّي قَدْ تَرَكْتُهَا "
Raja' bin Haywah and Sayyiduna al-'Urs bin Umayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that there was a dispute between a man from Hadramawt and Imru' al-Qays bin Abis concerning a piece of land. The two of them came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the Hadrami for evidence, but the Hadrami had no evidence, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that Imru' al-Qays should take an oath. The Hadrami said: "O Messenger of Allah! If you let him take the oath, by Allah, he will take away my land." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears a false oath in order to seize the property of a Muslim will meet Allah while He is angry with him." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called Imru' al-Qays and recited this verse to him. Imru' al-Qays said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is there for the one who gives it up?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Paradise." He said: "Then I make you my witness that I have given it up."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيه، عَنِ الْعُرْسِ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةََ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ: «أَمِّرُوا النِّسَاءَ لِتُعْرِبِ الثَّيِّبُ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا، وإذْنُ الْبِكِْر صُمَاتُهَا» ، زَادَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ فِي الْإِسْنَادِ الْعُرْسَ وَرَوَاهُ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ فَلَم يُجَاوِزِ عَدِيَّ بْنَ عُمَيْرَةَ
Sayyiduna al-'Urs bin Umayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek the consent of women, so that a previously married woman may express her own wishes; and the consent of a virgin is her silence."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ، ثَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ، ثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ الْكِنْدِيِّ، عَنِ الْعُرْسِ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ: «إنَّ اللهَ لَا يُعَذِّبُ الْعَامَّةَ بِعَمَلِ الْخَاصَّةِ حَتَّى تَعْمَلَ الْخَاصَّةُ بِعَمَلٍ تَقْدِرُ الْعَامَّةُ، أَنْ تُغَيِّرَهُ وَلَا تُغَيِّرُهُ فَذَاك حِينَ يَأْذَنُ اللهُ فِي هَلَاكِ الْعَامَّةِ والخاصةِ»
Sayyiduna al-'Urs bin Umayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah does not punish the common people for the deeds of the elite, until the elite commit a deed which the common people have the power to change, yet they do not change it. That is when Allah permits the destruction of the common people and the elite alike."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ يَعِيشَ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ الْعُرْسِ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا عُمِلَتِ الْخَطِيئَةُ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَنْ شَهِدَهَا وأَنْكَرَهَا فَهُو كَمَنْ غَابَ عَنْهَا، وَمَنْ غَابَ عَنْهَا ورَضِيَهَا كَمَنْ شَهِدَهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-'Urs bin Umayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a sin is committed on earth, whoever witnesses it and disapproves of it is like one who was absent from it; and whoever is absent from it but is pleased with it is like one who witnessed it."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيِّ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَفْطَحِ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَهْدَمٍ، ثَنَا أَبِي زَهْدَمِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْعُرْسِ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلِيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِن النَّارِ»
Sayyiduna al-'Urs bin Umayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Hellfire."
