Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates: A hadith reached me from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and which I had not heard from him (peace and blessings be upon him). I feared that he might die, or I might die, before I heard it. So I bought a camel, fastened my saddle on it, and then travelled on it for a month until I reached Syria. I came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Unays al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), stood and sought permission to enter, and said: Jabir bin Abdullah (has come). He came out to me and embraced me, and I embraced him. I said: There is a hadith which I have learned you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning wrongs (done to others); I feared that you might die, or I might die, before I heard it. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah Almighty will gather the servants on the Day of Gathering" - and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Syria - "naked, barefoot, uncircumcised and buhm (empty-handed)." I asked: What does empty-handed mean? He said: "They will have nothing with them. And a caller will call out with a voice that the one far away will hear just as the one near hears it: I am the King, the Requiter. It is not fitting for any of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise while any of the people of Hell has a claim against him for a wrong, and it is not fitting for any of the people of Hell to enter Hell while any of the people of Paradise has a claim against him for a wrong, even for a slap (it will be settled)." I asked: How will that be, when we will come naked, uncircumcised and empty-handed? He said: "Through good deeds and bad deeds (it will be settled)."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Unays (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will deal with Sufyan al-Hudhali for me? He satirises me, reviles me and harms me." I said: O Messenger of Allah, I am ready; send me to him. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to him. When I reached him at night, I entered his house and called out: Where is Sufyan? One of his household looked out and asked: What do you want? I said: I want Sufyan; tell him to come out to me. So Sufyan came out to me and asked: What do you want? I said: I want you to come down with me; I have a coat of mail that I want to show you. He asked: Where is it? I said: Here it is; come down from your tent and come with me so that I may show it to you. So he came out with me. I drew my sword and struck him until he became cold (that is, dead). Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in a gathering, and I told him that I had killed him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had a staff on which he used to lean; he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave it to me and said: "Lean on this, for those who lean on staffs on the Day of Resurrection will be few." The staff remained with him until he passed away, and then it was buried (with him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Unays (may Allah be pleased with him) that the party whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent to Abdullah bin Abi al-Huqayq (the Jew) to kill him were Abdullah bin Atik, Abdullah bin Unays, Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with them), an ally of theirs and a man from the Ansar. They reached Khaybar at night. (Abdullah bin Unays relates:) We went to the doors of their houses and shut them from the outside. The wife of Ibn Abi al-Huqayq said: This is the voice of Abdullah bin Atik. He said: Open the door. So she opened it, and Abdullah bin Atik and I went in. Abdullah said: Deal with her (hold her back). I was about to strike her with the sword when I remembered the prohibition of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) against killing women and children, so I held back from her.
Ali bin al-Madini said: This is Abdullah bin Unays al-Ansari, not al-Juhani; this is the Abdullah bin Unays al-Ansari from whom Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Unays al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that al-Mustanir bin Rizam the Jew struck me in the face with a stick of shawhat wood, splitting my head open, inflicting a wound that displaced the bone or one that reached the membrane of the brain. I brought this wound to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he (peace and blessings be upon him) uncovered it and spat on it, and after that it caused me no pain at all.
