حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ قَرْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Were it not that I feared hardship for my Ummah, I would have ordered them to use the siwak (tooth-stick) at every prayer."
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السَّمْتِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِنَانٍ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ»
