حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished because of the weeping of the living."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ النَّهْرَتِيرِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ الْغَفَّارِ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ وِصَالِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: «إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي، وَيَسْقِينِي»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade continuous fasting (without breaking the fast) for three days. The Companions said: "But you fast continuously?" He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "I remain in a state in which my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: " كُنَّا نَعُدُّ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ مُتَوَافِرُونَ: أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرُ، وَعُثْمَانُ ثُمَّ نَسْكُتُ "
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "In the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions, we used to count: Abu Bakr, then Umar, then Uthman, then we would fall silent."
