It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pulpits of gold will be set up for the Prophets, and they will sit on them, and my pulpit will remain, on which I will not sit," or he said: "I will not sit on it; rather, I will stand before my Lord, standing upright on behalf of my Ummah, for fear that I might be sent to Paradise while my Ummah is left behind after me. So I will say: O my Lord, my Ummah, my Ummah! Allah Almighty will say: O Muhammad, what do you want Me to do with your Ummah? I will say: O my Lord, make their reckoning just. So they will be called and taken to account; some of them will enter Paradise by the mercy of Allah, and some of them will enter Paradise through my intercession. I will keep interceding until I am given written releases for men who had already been sent to Hell, so much so that Malik, the keeper of Hell, will say: O Muhammad, you have not left any punishment from your Lord's anger for your Ummah."

Abdullah bin al-Harith narrated: I heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrating on this very pulpit that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say these words in times of distress: "There is no god worthy of worship except Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing; there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne; there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth and Lord of the Magnificent Throne; turn away from me the evil of so-and-so."
