حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ السُّلَمِيُّ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ عُثْمَانُ: وَبِي وَجَعٌ قَدْ كَادَ يُهْلِكُنِي - فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " امْسَحْهُ بِيَمِينِكَ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ، وَقُلْ: أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ " قَالَ: " فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَأَذْهَبَ اللهُ مَا كَانَ بِي فَلَمْ أَزَلْ آمُرُ بِهِ أَهْلِي وَغَيْرَهُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) - Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: And I had a pain that was about to destroy me - so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wipe it with your right hand seven times and say: I seek refuge in the might of Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel." Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I did so, and Allah Almighty removed that pain from me, and I have continued to instruct my family and others with it.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِي وَجَعٌ، فَقَالَ: " اجْعَلْ يَدَكَ الْيُمْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قُلْ: بِسْمِ اللهِ أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ، سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ " فَفَعَلْتُ فَكَفَانِي اللهُ، عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while I had a pain, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Place your right hand on it, then say: 'Bismillah, a'udhu bi-'izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajid' (In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in the might of Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel), (say it) seven times." I did so, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, sufficed me (and the pain went away).
حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ وَهُوَ إِسْحَاقُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، أَنَّهُ: شَكَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَمًا فَقَالَ: " أَيُّكُمْ وَجَدَ أَلَمًا فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَيْهِ وَلْيَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَلْيَقُلْ: أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman (bin Abi al-As) (may Allah be pleased with him) that he complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) of a pain, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you feels a pain, let him place his right hand on it, mention the name of Allah three times, and say: 'A'udhu bi-'izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir' (I seek refuge in the might of Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel and what I fear), seven times."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطْرَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ السُّلَمِيِّ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ أَخْبَرَهُ: أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَخَذَهُ وَجَعٌ وَكَادَ يُبْطِلُهُ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَزَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " ضَعْ يَمِينَكَ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي تَشْتَكِي، فَامْسَحْ بِهَا سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَقُلْ: أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ فِي كُلِّ مَسْحَةٍ "
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was afflicted with a pain that was almost disabling him, so he mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Place your right hand on the spot where you feel pain, then wipe it seven times, and with each wiping say: 'A'udhu bi-'izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajid' (I seek refuge in the might of Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel)."
