Sayyiduna Zuhayr bin Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from something that was beneficial to us. (Then) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: "What do you do with your fields?" I said: We rent them out for a quarter or an eighth (of the produce). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not do that; either cultivate them yourselves or leave them (as they are)." I said: Sam'an wa ta'atan (we hear and we obey).
