Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8236 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us

Sayyiduna Zuhayr bin Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from something that was useful to us. (The narrator) said: Whatever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said is the truth. So he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you do with your fields?" We said: We rent them out for a quarter, a third, and some fixed wasqs of straw and barley. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not do that; cultivate them yourselves or have someone else cultivate them."
