حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، " فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ هَاجَرَ الْهِجْرَةَ الْأُولَى إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ: أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ، وَمَعَهُ امْرَأَتُهُ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ فَوَلَدَتْ بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ، عُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ "
Urwah narrated: Among the names of those who made the first emigration to the land of Abyssinia: Sayyiduna Abu Salamah bin Abd al-Asad (may Allah be pleased with him), and with him was his wife Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her). She gave birth in the land of Abyssinia to Sayyiduna Umar bin Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him).
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَدِينِيِّ فُسْتُقَةُ، ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: «كُنْتُ أَنَا وَعُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ مَعَ النِّسْوَةِ فِي أُطُمِ حَسَّانَ، وَكَانَ يُطَأْطِئُ لِي مَرَّةً فَأَنْظُرُ وَأُطَأْطِئُ لَهُ فَيَنْظُرُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "On the day of (the Battle of) the Trench, I and Sayyiduna Umar bin Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) were with the women in the fortress of Hassan (bin Thabit). Sometimes he would bend down for me and I would look (out from above), and sometimes I would bend down for him and he would look."
