It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private part should perform ablution."
Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: No one narrated this hadith from Ayyub bin Utbah except Hammad bin Muhammad, and Hammad bin Muhammad also narrated the other hadith (with the opposite content), and in my view both are sahih (authentic). It appears that he (Sayyiduna Talq, may Allah be pleased with him) heard the first hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before this, then heard this hadith later, so his narration came to agree with that of Sayyidah Busrah, Sayyidah Umm Habibah, Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah, Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with them) and the other Companions who narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the command to perform ablution after touching the private part. Thus he heard both the abrogated and the abrogating (hadiths).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! May one of us pray in a single garment? He (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent, until, when the time of the Asr prayer came, he (peace and blessings be upon him) joined his waist-wrapper and his sheet together and wrapped himself in them like this, then wore them and led the Asr prayer. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished the prayer, he said: "Where is the one who asked about praying in a single garment?" The man said: O Messenger of Allah, here I am. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Does everyone have two garments?"

Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions while they were building the mosque. When I saw their work, I took hold of the spade and began mixing the clay with it. It seemed that my handling of the spade pleased him (peace and blessings be upon him), while they (the other Companions) kept on working. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave the Hanafi to the clay, for he is the best of you at handling clay." (This wording is from the narration of Asim bin Ali.)
