حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ لِهَذَا الدِّينِ إِقْبَالًا وَإِدْبَارًا» ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, this religion has its rise and its decline," and then he narrated the same (previous) hadith.
حَدَّثَنَا خَيْرُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ الْعِرْقِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْعَرْزَمِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أُرِيتُ الْبَارِحَةَ كَأَنِّي أُدْخِلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ، فَخَرَجْتُ مِنْ إِحْدَى أَبْوَابِهَا الثَّمَانِيَةِ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِأُمَّتِي قِيَامٌ، فَعَرَضُوا عَلَيَّ رَجُلًا رَجُلًا، وَإِذَا بِمِيزَانٍ مَنْصُوبٍ، فَوُضِعَتْ أُمَّتِي فِي كِفَّةِ الْمِيزَانِ وَوُضِعْتُ فِي الْكِفَّةِ الْأُخْرَى، فَرَجَحْتُ بِهِمْ. ثُمَّ وُضِعَتْ أُمَّتِي كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا فِي كِفَّةِ الْمِيزَانِ، وَوُضِعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي الْكِفَّةِ الْأُخْرَى فَرَجَحَ بِهِمْ، ثُمَّ وُضِعَ جَمِيعُ أُمَّتِي فِي كِفَّةِ الْمِيزَانِ وَوُضِعَ ابْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فِي كِفَّةِ الْمِيزَانِ فَرَجَحَ بِهِمْ، ثُمَّ رُفِعَ الْمِيزَانُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Last night I was shown as though I had been admitted into Paradise, and I came out through one of its eight gates, and I saw my Ummah standing. They were presented to me man by man, and a balance was set up. My whole Ummah was placed in one pan of the balance and I was placed in the other pan, and I outweighed them. Then my whole Ummah, all of them together, was placed in one pan of the balance, and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) was placed in the other pan, and he outweighed them. Then my whole Ummah was placed in a pan of the balance and Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was placed in the other pan, and he outweighed them. Then the balance was lifted away."
