حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ فُرَافِصَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُمَرَ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْأَرْوَاحُ جُنُودٌ مُجَنَّدَةٌ، فَمَا تَعَارَفَ مِنْهَا ائْتَلَفَ، وَمَا تَنَاكَرَ مِنْهَا اخْتَلَفَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Souls are like assembled troops: those that recognise one another become intimate, and those that do not recognise one another differ."
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا ظَهَرَ الْقَوْلُ، وَخُزِنَ الْعَمَلُ، وائْتَلَفَتِ الْأَلْسِنَةُ، وتَبَاغَضَتِ الْقُلُوبُ، وَقَطَعَ كُلُّ ذِي رَحِمٍ رَحِمَهُ، فَعِنْدَ ذَلِكَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللهُ، وأَصَمَّهُمْ، وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ»
Through the same chain it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When speech becomes widespread and deeds are hidden away, when tongues agree with one another while hearts hate one another, and when every relative cuts off ties with his relative, at that time Allah will curse them, make them deaf and blind their eyes."
