حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ثنا أَبُو حَفْصٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُ سَنَتَيْنِ مُتَتابِعَتَيْنِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts on the day of Arafah, the sins of two consecutive years will be forgiven for him."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، وَعَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَا: ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا طَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، ثنا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، «أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَاهُ فَأَقَرَّ عِنْدَهُ أَنَّهُ زَنَى بِامْرَأَةٍ سَمَّاهَا، فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَرْأَةِ، فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَأَنْكَرَتْ أَنْ تَكُونَ زَنَتْ، فَجَلَدَهُ الْحَدَّ وَتَرَكَهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and confessed before him that he had committed adultery with a certain woman. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for the woman and asked her about it, and she denied having committed adultery. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) carried out the prescribed punishment (hadd) on the man and let the woman go.
