It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dukayn bin Sa'id al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: We came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), four hundred riders, asking him for food. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umar, go and feed them and give to them." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have nothing but a few sa' of dates, which are not enough even for my household." At this Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Hear and obey." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Sam'an wa ta'atan (I hear and obey)." So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) set off until he came to an upper room. He took a key out of his waistband and opened it, then said to the people: "Come in." So they entered, and I was the last of the people to enter. I lagged behind, then I turned and saw that there were dates there the size of a young camel.
